Mystery Boxes
Mystery Boxes allow you to wrap multiple items into a single NFT, according to a defined loot table.
Mystery Boxes List Page
This page lists all your game's items currently defined as mystery boxes. Click on a row to view the mystery box details for that item. To create a mystery box, click on "Create Mystery Box".
Creating a Mystery Box
- First select a pre-minted item to define as a mystery box. You can do this by clicking on "Create Mystery Box" from your search query results. You can go to the item details page for that item and click on "Mystery Box" > "Create Mystery Box".
- Redeemable At:(optional) This allows you to set the date where the box becomes redeemable (openable). Before this date, users will not be able to redeem the item. This is set in UTC. If this is left blank, then the box will become redeemable immediately.
- Hide until redeemable: If checked, then the loot table for this item will be hidden from public view until the redeemable date.
- A mystery box can have multiple slots. Each slot is defined by a loot table, and contains one reward. That reward may be an item, or an amount of premium currency. Download the CSV template to get started, then click on "Add Slot +" to define the number of slots in the box.
- type: For items, enter "nft". For currency amounts, enter "currency".
- identifier: For items, enter the option name of the item. For premium currency, enter the slug of the currency.
- count: This is the count of items or currency packages contained in your box, and determines the odds of receiving that reward. For exmaple, if your mystery box item has a max issuance of 800, and you enter a count value of 200, then the box has a 25% chance to reward this item when redeemed. The sum of the count column must equal the Max Issuance of the mystery box item.
- amount: For items, this amount must be 1. For premium currency, this is the amount of currency you want to be rewarded if the user rolls this reward.
- Upload a loot table CSV for each slot. Then proceed by clicking on "Preview".
- On the Preview page, you can confirm the loot table for each Item Slot. When you're ready, you can submit the mystery box for approval.
Approvals
Once a mystery box has been requested, it goes into an "Awaiting Approval" state. Defining a mystery box is a two-person process. Any game member may request an mystery box, but a game admin must approve the request. The game admin can view the Mystery Box Details and approve the request at the bottom of the page by clicking on "Approve".
Once approved, it will take several minutes for the system to reserve the items and place them in the mystery box. If you want to remove the mystery box definition from the item, just go to the Mystery Box Details for that item and click on "Delete". Be aware that when at least one issue of the box has been opened, the mystery box definition can no longer be deleted.
